NHS Wiltshire Talking Therapies

NHS Wiltshire Talking Therapies (previously known as Wiltshire IAPT) offer health and mindfulness support for many different conditions.

For example some current courses are –

Living Well with Chronic Fatigue six-week course starting on Friday the 7th of July. This will cover the topics of:

  • Understanding chronic fatigue and its impact
  • Prioritising, pacing and planning activities
  • Managing expectations
  • Dealing with unhelpful thoughts
  • Helpful ways to communicate feelings and needs.

Wellbeing for Weight Management two-week course starting Tuesday the 1st of August. This course is suitable for anyone with a BMI of 25 and above, who is trying to lose weight and is finding that feeling low, stressed or anxious is getting in the way of making lifestyle changes. Topics covered include:

  • Identifying ways of helping you to achieve your lifestyle goals.
  • Identifying the difference between emotional hunger and physical hunger.
  • Introducing techniques to use when experiencing emotional hunger.

Living Well with Chronic Pain six-week course starting on Friday the 18th of August. This will cover the topics of:

  • Understanding chronic pain and its impact
  • Managing stress
  • Values & goals
  • How to manage activities through pacing
  • Strategies to help with difficult thoughts
  • Helpful ways of communication
  • Mindfulness and relaxation
